Pokémon iOS 14 App Icons Reimagined (Plus Free Download)

In anticipation for the iOS 14 update in September 2020, I began brainstorming ways to customize my phone’s home screen to fit my incredibly nerdy and detail-oriented needs. Would I go with a monochrome theme? Perhaps just minimal?

But then it hit me.

I asked myself, “What if there were cell phones in the world of Pokémon—and what would our apps look like in their world?”

It started with Snapchat. A silhouetted Shuppet sounded easy enough, but one after another the ideas jumped off my screen. Some were a stretch, sure, but honestly most came naturally.

If you’re a true Pokémon enthusiast, you’ll notice a few sarcastic references in my icon set (i.e. Netflix, Behance, Explorer). Those were too difficult to pass up.

It took only two weeks of spare time and after-work hours to shell out the final 60+ custom app icons, but I knew I’d be happy with them for a lifetime…or at least until iOS 15 came out.

Scroll down to download the complete set for FREE, and please send me a DM on Instagram when your phone home screen is set up so I can share every last one of them.

Pro Tip: These images work great for Apple Watch backgrounds, too!
